Brief About Lord Vishnu, Hayagriva, King Satyavrata Manu
In Hindu mythology, the incarnation is based on 3 important characters Lord Vishnu, Demon Hayagriva, and King Satyavrata Manu(Vaivasvata). First Lord Vishnu, as you know savior of the universe. Demon Hayagriva is the son of the sage Kashyapa and his wife Danu. His head looks like a Horse, named horse-headed man Hayagriva. Satyavrata Manu is the king of ancient Dravid and a devotee of Lord Vishnu.
In Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu had taken this incarnation to save the Vedas and kill the demon Hayagriva. Simultaneously, Vaivasvata Manu and Saptarishis (seven saints) had also taken to save all the living beings from the holocaust of the first Kalpa. Matsyaavatar was depicted in religious books before the catastrophe of the periodic disintegration of the universe. When the knowledge of the Vedas came out of the mouth of Prajapati Brahma, the demon Hayagriva stole and hid in the deep ocean in the earth.

Lord Vishnu incarnated Matsyavatar
Lord Vishnu is incarnated as his primary avatar of Matsya. When King Satyavrata Manu offered Arghya to Suryadev (sun) in the morning in a river, a small and helpless fish swam into his hands and pleaded to save its life from big fish.
According to the mercy of the fish, the king took the fish in his pot(kamandal) and went toward his house. After he reached home, the fish became the size of that pot. The king kept it on a tank but after some time that fish became the size of the tank. Then he put in the pond the fish covered the pond. Then he put in the river the fish covered the river. In the end, when the king put him in the sea, the fish covered the sea.
That golden-colored fish reveal their divine identity and inform their devotee that exactly the deluge will come after which the new creation of the world will take place on the seventh day.
King Satyavrata gather and store all the herbs, seeds, animals, saptarishi, etc. in the boat sent by the Lord. Then, the huge fish saved the Vedas by killing Hayagriva and gave it to Brahma. When Brahma woke up from his sleep which was at the end of devastation, it is called the night of Brahma.
When the tide began to consume the universe, a huge boat came, on which everyone boarded. Lord Matsya tied him as a string to the serpent Vasuki and proceeded towards Sumeru Mountain. On the way, Lord Matsya Narayan narrated the Matsya Purana to Manu (Satyavrata). Thus the Lord saved everyone from the cataclysm and saved the species of plants, and animals and spread the knowledge of Matsya Purana in the new age.
